Disassembeling the AAO D250
From Hax0rpedia
Today I felt like I need to take my recently bought Acer Aspire One D250 apart. Here is how it works:
[edit] Howto disassemble the D250
1.) Remove all lids on the bottom
2.) Unskrew all marked skrews
3.) Turn the AAO around, open it and remove the 2 silver palstic parts on next to the display (can be simply taken off)
4.) Gently lift the keyboard with a small flat head skrewdriver, be careful not to scratch anything. See the location of the noose to push in on the pic, be gentle!! You will need to bend the keyboard a little to take it of. There are some holders on the side of it.
5.) Now open softly the socket where the keyboard cable goes in, best to use a flathead skrewdriver for that, and take the cable out. The holders to be lifted are marked in the image.
6.) Unskrew the marked skews (and those underneath the battery, not shown in picture)
7.) Remove the marked cable form their sockets
8.) Slide a card accross the sides and make the upper part pop up (see the video by tnkgrl on the old AAO how this works if you are unsure)
9.) Ok now you see your board, happy digging around there.
For anyone who is scared, here is a link to some AAO D250 hardware highres pics I made for those who just interested in taking a closer look on the mainboard.
[edit] Oddities
Something new and odd is, the wifi card is small, no longer replaceable by a stock one. I tried to put a dell in the mini PCI-e on the bottom now, trying to get it to work atm.
hi some points need to be solderd to get power going to the sim and pci-e slot there is a vid on the old d250(with the buttons to the side of th mouse pad) but not the new one
